AI assistant connector
Use ThesisDraft's AI check in ChatGPT and Claude
ThesisDraft's AI check runs inside ChatGPT and Claude through a connector. Connect it once with your ThesisDraft account, then ask the assistant to check a passage of your thesis: it returns ThesisDraft's verdict (green, amber or red), a score on a 0 to 100 scale that is not a probability, and the main factors behind it. Without a plan you have 3,000 free words a month; each check needs at least 300 words.

How do I connect ThesisDraft in ChatGPT?
In ChatGPT, add ThesisDraft from its apps directory once it is listed there. Until then, an account with developer mode turned on can add the connector URL above as a custom connector. The sign-in and the Allow step are the same as in Claude.
What does the check return?
- The verdict sentence and its colour: green, amber or red.
- A score on ThesisDraft's 0 to 100 scale, where amber starts at 20 and red at 50. The score is a position on that scale, not a probability that the text was written by AI.
- The main factors behind the verdict, such as how much sentence length varies.
- How many words were checked, and how many free words are left this month.
The check has two halves: Language structure and Writing style. For English and German texts of 400 words or more, both count. Below that, and in other languages, the verdict rests on Language structure alone. For a long text the Writing style half can take a little longer; the assistant then gets an interim verdict first and collects the final one a minute later.
What does the connector not do?
- It does not check sources or plagiarism. That check is on thesisdraft.com.
- It does not mark individual sentences or return passages of your text.
- It does not rewrite your text.
How many words can I check for free?
Without a plan, 3,000 words a month per account, across all your checks. A text longer than what is left is checked up to that point, and the result says how many words were checked. Each check needs at least 300 words, because a verdict on less is not reliable. With a ThesisDraft plan, a check covers the whole text and counts against the plan's monthly checks.
What happens to my text?
The text the assistant sends is checked on servers in the EU and kept for at most one day, so that the analysis of a longer text can finish, and is then deleted automatically. It is never added to ThesisDraft's reference corpus or used for anything else, and it is not linked to your account. Your account records which assistants you connected and how many words you checked this month. You can disconnect an assistant at any time in your profile at app.thesisdraft.com; deleting your account deletes these records.
The assistant's provider processes your request and ThesisDraft's result under its own terms.
How accurate is the check?
ThesisDraft publishes its measured false-positive rates, and the population each was measured on, on its accuracy page. The rates are measured on English and German academic writing; for other languages the verdict bands are provisional.
Which tools does the connector offer?
